The furry four-legged local who made his bid for gold during the 2026 Winter Olympics after escaping his doghouse has become somewhat of a household name – Meet Nazgul.

A wolfdog joined the Olympic women’s cross-country skiing team sprint at the winter games in Milano Cortina Wednesday.

The dog later was identified as a Czechoslovakian wolfdog.
